Welcome to The Rodriguez Rescue Ranch!

Hello! I’m Debra Rodriguez. My friends call me Debbie, and I am hoping that is how you will begin to think of me as well once you get to know me. I have worn many hats in my life – daughter, sister, student, wife, mom, military spouse, teacher, mentor and counselor – just to name a few. Each and every one of those titles provided me with experiences, feelings and challenges that brought me to where I am today – better yet – to who I am today. My biggest strengths are simply being genuine and compassionate. I worship God, adore my family and absolutely love animals.

My Family

I am blessed with an amazing family! My husband, Jaime, is a retired Army Veteran. I am so incredibly proud of his service to this country and am even more proud of the incredible dad and grandpa he is. I have five children – Kassidy, Matthew, Julianna, Dylan and Leila – and two grandchildren – Jr. and Tallen. Each of them, through their own personalities, have taught me so much about life.

My Ranch

Our ranch rescues animals – mostly horses and dogs – but we also dabble in cats, ferrets and turtles around here. What I learned very quickly, was that each and every one of the animals, just like my children, had something to teach me. They all come with their own story and background, but unfortunately they can’t tell me about it – at least not with words. Through us, they are provided the environment to heal from their past and press on to the future.

My Purpose

This blog is the evolution of my life and career as a Marriage and Family Christian Counselor. Here you will get to know my crazy life from animal rescue to adoption to military life to marriage to illness to parenting to walking with Jesus. It will be real, I told you I was genuine, but most of all I hope it will be helpful. I hope that you will laugh with me, cry with me, and grow with me while I share the story of The Rodriguez Rescue Ranch and how God has called me out.
